Crisis intervention services to victims of elder abuse include short-term counseling;
financial entitlements advocacy; help in obtaining Crime Victim Compensation, orders
of protection; family/criminal court accompaniment; emergency/permanent housing assistance
and advocacy; referrals for immigration services, employment, food/clothing, emergency
housing, legal services, etc. Crime Prevention program includes weekly police escort
shopping and banking, workshops, etc. Minor Repair program for elderly renters/homeowners
(South and North West Bronx), including crime prevention device installation. Assistance
with landlord/tenant problems, senior citizen housing programs, Housing Court, etc.
Eligibility criteria: senior citizens (60 years or over); no income requirements.
Payments accepted: FREE.
Languages (other than English): Spanish.
Will serve undocumented immigrants.
