JEWISH ASSOCIATION FOR SERVICES FOR THE AGED (JASA)
Manhattan/Staten Island District Service Center JASA provides comprehensive social services for the elderly in New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties. 23 social service sites (call the above number for referrals to the service site nearest you) provide information and referral; casework and counseling; crime victims counseling and assistance; licensed mental health services; legal assistance; help in securing public entitlements; housing advocacy and other services. Elderly persons in Brooklyn and Queens who may be abused, neglected or at extreme risk are provided with crisis, legal and psychiatric intervention and ongoing supportive help from JASA's Protective Services program.
